Fiction previously published as Edie Harris

Before turning my attention to speculative fiction, I spent seven years writing and publishing romance as Edie Harris, a pen name I retired in 2021.

Beginning at age 23, I published historical romance, contemporary romance, and romantic suspense with Berkley/Penguin Random House, Samhain Publishing, Harlequin/HarperCollins, and independently. Eventually, I stepped away from publishing and completed the rights-reversion process for my previously published work.

I remain enormously grateful to the readers who found these books, the editors who made me a better writer, the publishers who took chances on my work, and the writers and booksellers who were part of that chapter of my career.

A note about book availability

Edie Harris books are no longer in publication, and I am not currently offering any of these titles for sale.

I now control the reverted rights to my previously published books. If you encounter a new ebook, print-on-demand edition, audiobook, or other newly produced edition of an Edie Harris title for sale, please be aware that I have not authorized its publication or distribution and do not receive royalties from its sale.

Original copies do still exist in the world, of course. You may encounter legitimate used copies through secondhand booksellers, libraries, or personal collections.

I don't currently have plans to republish the Edie Harris catalogue. “Never” is a very long time, so I won't say that could never change, but there are no authorized reissues or new Edie Harris editions available or forthcoming at this time.

What came next

Retiring Edie Harris wasn't the end of my writing career; instead, it turned out to be an intermission before I started my second act.

After a long creative hiatus, I returned to fiction with a very different set of interests—and considerably more monsters. My current work lives in the worlds of speculative fiction, dark fantasy, and gothic horror.

Elsewhere, I write about books, movies, television, music, theatre, Chicago, the writing life, and whatever else happens to catch in my gravitational pull at leni in orbit over on Substack.
